This video focuses on two different topics. The first topic explains some tips that can help keep you safe when working in a photographic studio. The second is how to use an in-camera masking technique that allows you to merge two images of a still life subject into a single image using Photoshop to get perfect registration of the images.
Disclaimer: This video shows how the sharp edge of a sheet of polyester diffusion material can be used to cut through a hotdog! If that hot dog was replaced with a human finger there is hardly any chance of doing an equal amount of damage to that human finger. Nerve endings in the finger of its human owner would stop the human (attached to that finger) from continuing to do it long before the damage was so great!
Some of the techniques described, and images used to illustrate, this video are featured in Steve Sint’s book: Digital Still Life Photography: Art, Business, and Style.
