Fabulous Fakes
Many products studio photographers use are positioned outside of a photograph’s borders and never seen. Another group of products, featured in this tutorial, are some Set Shop specialty products meant to be seen within the frame of the photograph. Because these products are seen, and therefore become part of the photograph, they have to be perfect replicas of what they are meant to represent and in this tutorial we call them Fabulous Fakes!
They are designed to replace ephemeral items that literally disappear under the hot glare of studio lights. We will be demonstrating the use of different types of artificial ice cubes, crushed ice, snow, frost, and water droplets. The reason for these products very existence is because the real items in this category melt, change, and even evaporate as photographers try to photograph them! But, in addition to knowing that these fabulous fakes are available from Set Shop, there are also tricks and hints in using them that can help you both choose the right product for a specific assignment and how to use it once your choice has been made. Ladies and gentlemen, Set Shop Tutorials presents to you – Fabulous Fakes!
